Step 1: Removing the Base Cover
Prerequisites: Shut down your laptop, unplug power, and remove any micro-SD card. Enter Service Mode if available.
- Remove the four M2.5×6.55 screws from the base cover.
- Loosen the two captive screws (M2.5×6.55) to create a gap.
- Insert a plastic scribe at the gap near the bottom corners and carefully pry along the edges.
- Lift and slide the base cover off.
- Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
- Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds to drain flea power.





Step 2: Removing the Battery
Warning: Alienware x14 has no RTC coin cell. After disconnection, an RTC reset cycle may occur, requiring you to reconfigure BIOS date and time.
- Ensure the battery cable is disconnected.
- Remove six M2x4 screws securing the battery.
- Carefully lift the battery out.

Step 3: Installing the New Battery
- Place the new battery onto the alignment posts.
- Secure it with six M2x4 screws.
- Reconnect the battery cable to the system board.

Step 4: Reinstalling the Base Cover
- Ensure the battery cable is securely connected.
- Slide the tabs of the base cover under the rear I/O cover and snap into place.
